Morro de São Paulo, Brazil
Introduction
Morro de São Paulo is a small village in an island called Tinharé in Bahia. It is a car-free island with no paved roads and is only accessible by boat or air shuttle. It has one road and four or five beaches. It is a favorite weekend gateaway for local travelers with lots of hotels, restaurants, and a nightlife scene. The island's beaches are really nice and relaxing with sandy lanes and calm waters. Great weekend trip for couples and families. You can get a feel of the beautiful island from some of our pictures and videos below.

Where is Morro de São Paulo?
How Did We Get There?
This is a short and really affordable weekend trip called "Bate e Volta". The literal English translation is hit and return trip. We left my wife's hometown in Petrolina in the evening with another couple (our friends). The cost of the trip was R$220 ($70) per person that included the 7 hours bus ride, ferry transport to the island, and one night hotel stay with breakfast and a return trip. Being with the easy going Brazilians, is such a fun trip as can be seen in the video below.
Where Did We Stay?
We stayed at a simple pousada that was part of the $70 package. The island offers a wide range of hotel accommodations from simple pousadas to mid and high end resort villas. To view over 200+ hotels on the island, please click on the "Morro de Sao Paulo hotels" link below. There is no extra cost to you but I'll receive a commission if you book your stay. This will help me to continue maintaining my website. Thank you very much in advance!
